UCP Is Hiring: HR Assistant

UCP is currently seeking a Full-Time Human Resources & Recruiting Assistant. This is a professional-level job with lots of room for growth and independence, and the chance to join a close-knit team.


You will partner closely with our Recruiter, assisting with the recruiting process and onboarding of new hires, including:

  • Posting and closing job ads (including using simple HTML).

  • Responding to applicant enquiries, and providing status updates.

  • Coordinating all pre-hire paperwork and screenings, including creating new hire letters and other paperwork, conducting new hire meetings, conducting criminal history checks, and scheduling physicals and drug screens.

  • Following up to ensure that all documentation is in place in a timely fashion.

  • Entering data into our applicant tracking systems (Excel databases and online).

  • Pulling data and generating recruiting-related reports.

  • Doing some copying and filing.


You will also provide some support to our Human Resources Director, including:

  • Assisting with open enrollment for benefits, and implementing day-to-day benefits coverage changes.

  • Assisting with coordinating workers compensation claims.

  • Occasionally covering the front desk, including managing a busy phone line, interacting with visitors, and handling petty cash.

This is the perfect job for you if you're seeking a different kind of recruiting position, one where you get to make a difference every day.

As our Recruiter, you will mostly be filling “direct care” positions, hiring employees who will work one-on-one (or in a few cases, in small groups) with kids or adults who experience various disabilities. Other employees will be caseload managers, or will manage teams.

You'll make a difference every day as you form strong relationships with the customers you are hiring for, and as you serve as an important part of UCP’s administrative and management teams, helping solve problems and answer questions.

Awesome Jobs Working with Kids

  • You can work in Portland, Clackamas, Canby, Gresham, Beaverton, and/or Hillsboro.
  • You will be able to choose which families (and kids) you work with.
  • You can choose how many shifts you work; currently, our staff are averaging between 6-25 hours per week.

You’ll be supporting kids who experience various disabilities, assisting them at home and out in the community. Together, you’ll do activities such as creating arts and crafts, and playing games. You may assist some kids as they use the bathroom, or provide emotional or behavior support. You’ll also do a small amount of paperwork.

UCP is Hiring: Caregiver for Fun Young Man

Are you looking for the perfect weekend caregiving job?

If so, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) might have the job for you! 

We’re currently seeking a weekend caregiver (“Personal Assistant”) who will support a young man who lives with his family in Forest Grove. 

He is sweet, laidback and somewhat shy. Together, you will do fun activities, such as playing video games, exploring the community, and watching movies. You will assist him as he learns how to feel comfortable with receiving assistance in the bathroom. 

You'll work 20 hours per week (Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 7pm). These hours are somewhat flexible, based on your needs.
